The creation of a Baptist Union Baptist Church Veterans Recognition Ministry was suggested by Trustee Janice M. Johnson, motioned for acceptance before the church members by Pastor Timothy Jackson, a US Marine veteran and approved unanimously in a formal church meeting held in December 2017. Trustee Johnson, a retired Army colonel, was designated as the first chairperson of the ministry. The mission of the ministry is to identify, acknowledge and make permanent record of the military service of veteran members (living and deceased) of BUBC and to provide outreach and education and fellowship to the veteran community and their families at BUBC and throughout Central Virginia.

Veterans Ministry
